Super-high performance combat ship used by members of the Star Fox Team.
The Arwing can touch down on the ground and transform into the Walker, using its wings as "feet" to explore smaller areas.
Primarily a ground-based assault weapon, the Landmaster can also hover for a short time, and can roll from side to side to help avoid enemy attacks.
The Landmaster can transform into the Gravmaster, a heavy jet that improves mobility and can rain down targeting missiles from above.
Slow-flying but agile hovercraft ship that can deploy a tethered robot, Direct-i, to gather items and hack into computer systems.
Use your TV’s cinematic view to fly and identify targets, then see through the eyes of Fox on the Wii U™ GamePad controller's screen as you lock onto enemies and fire.
You’ll also have to use advanced flight techniques like boosting and barrel rolls to survive the relentless assault.
It takes more than a fancy ship to be a space ace. You've got to have quick reflexes and some serious flying skills. Luckily, Nintendo's resident Star Fox experts have a few tips to help you rule the stars.
Take the time to learn aiming and shooting with the Wii U GamePad controller, as well as flying with the Left Control Stick. It takes practice to be an ace pilot, even if you’re a wily Star Fox veteran!
Hold the ZR button to lock onto an enemy, then press the Right Control Stick or the R button to launch a homing smart bomb. Ka-blammo!
There are three types of lasers. After you reach the third level, you now have the ability to charge TWO shots instead of just one. Use this to lock onto enemies at opposing ends of groups or separate targets to rack up high scores.
Tilt the Right Control Stick towards you to slow down—you’ll have a bit more time to shoot all of the enemies you see on screen. Speed isn’t everything!
There’s always another way to approach the level to maximize those high scores. What if you save a charge shot just one more second? Are those large ships destructible? Blast 'em and find out!
Switch between views on the TV and GamePad often. If your shots are missing enemies on the TV, look at the GamePad—you’d be surprised at how much this will improve your game!
Never give up. Trust your instincts. Oh, and do a barrel roll!
Team up with a friend or family member to co-pilot your ship. One player uses the Wii U GamePad controller to fire weapons while the other uses the Wii U Pro Controller or Wii Remote™ and Nunchuk™ controllers to steer the ship.
Scanning a Fox amiibo swaps Fox and his teammates over to Retro Arwings, fun throwback models based on the original Arwing featured on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System™.
Scanning a Falco amiibo swaps Fox over to the Black Arwing. This sleek starship has increased firepower and can lock on to two targets at once, but receives more damage than the normal Arwing when hit.
